"To supercharge a truly global clean energy transition, we must... build 21st century energy systems.
Without modern, resilient, and interconnected grids and storage, the transition will stall. Across the world, projects are ready, but stuck waiting to connect to transmission and distribution networks."
Secretary-General's remarks at the Global Energy Transition and Electrification Summit [as delivered]
It is an honour to be here, among committed climate leaders and activists. This summit takes on urgent tasks, at an urgent moment:Advancing the energy transition – at speed and scale, and with justice; And building a new global economy for all, powered by clean, affordable electricity.Earlier today,...

AI and EVs are driving a surge in global energy demand, forcing electrical grids to double their power delivery by 2050. However, aging infrastructure and outdated technology threaten to hold them back. Now, companies from China to Nigeria are building next-generation grids to power AI, support electrification and potentially unlock massive economic growth.

🏆 Another milestone reached in UHV technology!
Our first 1100 kV Gas-Insulated Switchgear (GIS) successfully passed full-configuration testing, witnessed by our customer, State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC).
Full-configuration testing is a specific SGCC requirement for ultra-high-voltage (UHV) projects: the entire bay is assembled in the factory and subjected to dielectric and partial discharge routine tests as the final quality gate. It's one of the most rigorous validation steps in the industry.
With this, we have now completed all routine tests and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for the first 1100kV GIS delivered to SGCC and received outstanding feedback and recognition for our quality and precision.
Proud of the entire team that made this happen. The best engineering is the kind that holds up under the toughest tests.

"There are 100,000 megawatts of stranded capacity inside the existing US power grid right now. We still need new generation (some behind the meter) and more transmission lines. We also need to fix permitting, but we can most certainly move faster."

According to Sarangi, India would eventually require a large-scale transmission network similar to the “super grid” model being developed by China, explaining that China plans to invest around 574 billion dollars by 2030 in such infrastructure.
Renewable energy curtailment critical issue; India requires super grid like China: MNRE Secy
More deployment of battery energy storage systems, grid forming inverters, synchronous condensers to provide pathway for better integration of RE into grid system, says Sarangi
