“I told a professor once that I wanted to help heal the wounds in our community. I’ve been privileged to spend my career doing exactly that. Now, I help my students do the same.”
Dr. Doug Haldeman has spent over 45 years at the intersection of psychology and social justice. What began as a personal search for safety evolved into a global mission of advocacy. A journey that has taken him across the world to provide vital humanitarian relief to the LGBTQIA+ community. Whether he is on the ground in refugee camps or publishing research that challenges systemic inequality, his focus remains the same: giving a voice to those who have been silenced and providing healing for marginalized communities.
A leader who has traveled the globe to help those in need, Dr. Haldeman brings that same heart for advocacy to every student he mentors at National University. As a Professor in our PsyD program, he does more than teach clinical theory; he empowers his students to lead with the same empathy and courage he has shown throughout his career.
This , we’re honored to celebrate Dr. Haldeman’s lifelong commitment to justice and mentoring the next generation of leaders.
