Your back pain after your 40's isn't random. It's hormonal.
Estrogen falls. Cortisol rises. Your tissue gets less forgiving. You didn't choose that and you can't reverse it.
What you CAN control is the one habit you repeat every day. That's the difference between a spine that holds up and one that keeps flaring.
Comment "HABIT" for the one-page guide that keeps you pain-free. 👇
Inside Bulletproof Your Back (BYB), this is where we start.

‼️Before you consider Spinal fusion surgery, think again to consider conservative methods first!
đź’ˇ # #(Exercises and life habit changes can help
You over come back pain!)
Here are some statistics and insights about why spinal fusion surgery is not always successful:
1. **Failure Rates**: Studies suggest that spinal fusion surgery has a failure rate of around **20% to 40%**. This condition is often referred to as “failed back surgery syndrome” (FBSS), where patients continue to experience pain post-surgery.
2. **Chronic Pain Post-Surgery**: A significant number of patients, roughly **30% to 40%**, continue to experience chronic pain even after the surgery, requiring further treatments like physical therapy or additional surgeries.
3. **Reoperation Rates**: Approximately **10% to 20%** of spinal fusion patients will require a second surgery due to complications such as improper fusion, hardware failure, or adjacent segment disease (where the spinal discs above or below the fusion area deteriorate).
4. **Post-Surgical Complications**: About **15% to 25%** of patients experience complications such as infection, nerve damage, blood clots, or failure of the hardware used in the procedure.
These statistics highlight the potential risks and uncertainties surrounding spinal fusion surgery, emphasizing why non-surgical methods like exercise and physical therapy are often recommended as alternatives.
I was diagnosed with needing to have a spinal fusion, but it’s been a long journey to fix my bad pain without the surgery. Now I feel like I have found the shortcut without all the trials and errors.
I started this page to let people know that Hope exists, and once you find the right direction, the recovery is not impossible at all!

Women 40+, stop doing the same back rehab as men. Your spine doesn't work the same way. Comment "Sciatica" and I'll send you the exact routine. 👇
Here's what nobody told my 47-year-old client Nancy,
She was told a steroid injection was her only fix for the pain shooting down her leg. ❌
But for women over 40, estrogen drops, and that drop speeds up disc degeneration in the lower spine. The gaps between your vertebrae narrow, the nerve gets compressed, and you feel it as sciatica. A study of over 1,500 women found a direct link between menopause and lumbar disc degeneration. So this isn't just "getting old."
Instead of the injection, Nancy started training her spine the right way.
A few weeks in, she's moving without that shooting pain. Comment "Sciatica" to see the first emergency routine I gave her to get out of her nagging Sciatica pain.
If your back pain travels down your leg, comment "Sciatica" and I'll send you the routine I built for Nancy.
‼️I have a fracture in my spine… would you believe it?
đź©» is a condition where a vertebrae often with a structure slips on top of the other vertebrae, creating a massive instability in your spine.
➡️ it happens 5 to 10% of active young athletes, more often in female than male.
➡️ mostly happens due to genetic reasons or repetitive excessive bending of the spine with loads.
In my case…. I actually don’t know what happened! One day my back hurt so much and I got the diagnosis from a doctor after an x-ray.
It’s been a 10 + year journey since then, but I have learned a lot through what works and what doesn’t. Pilates was such a game changer for me. I made this account to spread the good news and hopefully help someone who is going through this now!
Follow for more tips on , and more!

‼️ Don't let back pain steal from your life.
One of the biggest reasons I take care of my body isn't to look a certain way.
It's so I can get down on the floor, run around, kick a soccer ball, shoot hoops, and play with my niece and nephew without constantly worrying about my back.
Because one day, the moments you'll remember won't be your workouts.
They'll be the memories you made with the people you love.
That's what Bulletproof Your Back is really about.
Not perfect posture.
Not six-pack abs.
Not becoming better at Pilates.
It's about having a body that lets you fully participate in your life.

âť—Stop hurting your back - be smart about what you drink. Plot twist: regular Diet Coke doesn't actually have sucralose in it.
Chronic inflammation drives a huge chunk of back stiffness, slow recovery, and that "tight no matter what I do" feeling. So I went digging into which sweeteners actually move the needle.
Here's what surprised me:
âś… Standard Diet Coke uses aspartame, not sucralose
âś… Coke Zero Sugar uses aspartame + acesulfame potassium
❌ "Diet Coke with Splenda" is the version that has sucralose (different can, niche product)
❌ Sucralose hides in protein shakes, flavored yogurts, "zero sugar" sports drinks, low-cal flavored waters, and Splenda packets
Sucralose is the one the research keeps flagging for gut microbiome and inflammation issues. So check those labels, not just your soda.
The bigger rocks for back pain are still sleep, alcohol, ultra-processed food, and visceral fat. Fix those first, then dial in your sweetener choice.
Inside BYB, we pair back-specific movement with the daily habits that lower your baseline inflammation. So progress sticks instead of resetting every Monday.
