SJHS Tigers Esports Team Advances to CIF Rocket League Finals in Inaugural Season

[San Jacinto, CA] — In a remarkable debut season, the SJHS Rocket League Esports team has qualified for the CIF Rocket League Finals, marking a historic milestone for the program in its very first year of competition.

The team, comprised of juniors Juan Garcia, Nathan Hyder, and Joseph Wilson-Keel, has demonstrated exceptional skill and consistency throughout the playoffs, losing just a single game on their path to the championship match.

They will face a formidable opponent in Benjamin Franklin High School, last year’s state champion, in what promises to be a highly competitive finals showdown. The match is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 25, at California State University-Dominguez Hills.

“This group has set the standard for what dedication, teamwork, and competitive spirit look like,” coach Jeremy Murphy said. “To reach the finals in our first year speaks volumes about their commitment and the strength of this program.”

The CIF Esports initiative continues to expand opportunities for student-athletes in competitive gaming, and the Tigers early success highlights the growing impact of Esports in education.

Community members, students, and supporters are encouraged to cheer on the team as they compete for a state title.

🎉 Big shoutout to our E-Sports team! 🚀 They’ve just advanced to the Semi-Finals in CIF! 🏆 With a dominant performance in the previous round, the Tigers are proving they belong.
