When you’re feeling defeated, momentum feels out of reach.
Sometimes just showing up takes all the energy you can muster.
I’ve experienced some doozy defeats recently and let me tell you, it took me more than a minute to recover.
Because what perpetuates defeat is what we decide to do or not do when we’re feeling defeated.
The most common reactions to defeat are to give in or give up.
To succumb to the belief that school leadership means living a life of misery and accepting the suffering that comes with it...
Or worse yet, to throw in the towel because you think you’re not cut out to handle the pressure.
If you’re in a moment of defeat, I feel so much compassion for your pain.
