Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit High School

Last week, 34 rising juniors and seniors across the Cristo Rey Network gathered at Marquette University in Milwaukee for the annual Student Union for Mission Alliance (SUMA) Leadership Conference hosted by Cristo Rey Jesuit High School Milwaukee.

SUMA invited students to explore what it means to lead in the classroom, at work, in faith, and in their relationships with peers and adults. Participants reflected on their own leadership journeys, learned how to advance the Cristo Rey mission collectively, and left with tools and inspiration to bring back to their school communities.

We're proud to share that two Cristo Rey San José students, Angel D. and Jocelyn Z.R., were among those in attendance, growing alongside peers from across the network and building friendships that will last well beyond this conference.

As a member of Cristo Rey San José’s founding class, Giang took a leap of faith by enrolling at a school that was just beginning its journey. Today, he as an educator, mentor, and role model for the next generation of students. Through his dedication in the classroom, leadership of the Mountain Lion Club, and commitment to building community among students and colleagues alike, Giang exemplifies what it means to be outrageously bold.
