I got a pretty big cut today and i asked my son to grab me a bandaid. He asked me if it hurt and I said yes, so he said "ok I'll try to be fast." I thought that was so sweet 🥰 until he showed me THIS bandaid and laughed so hard... I asked him why he gave me this one and he said he wanted to scare me... 😅

I love seeing the joy on these little ones' faces just by writing my name in their memory books/yearbooks. And thank goodness my last name is so short! 😜

These were so much fun! What are your summer plans? ☀️

Both Gengar and Bob the Builder were determined to find a place to burrow. We gave them some soil, and they both disappeared! We haven't seen either of them all week, so we're hoping they're cozy underground, busy metamorphosing. 🐛->🦋

Do you think we'll see them emerge in the next four remaining school days? It's been about a week since Gengar burrowed. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤞🏻

We named our caterpillars! 🐛🐛 Let me introduce you to Gengar and… Bob the Builder 🤣⚒️

One kid chose the name Gengar because he was purplish (although he’s more pink now), and Bob the Builder because… according to the child who named him, “he makes 💩 so he can build things” 😅

Personally, I was rooting for Brownie or Cookie 🍪 but oh well…

We thought we lost Gengar for a bit, but I think he’s just trying to find a safe spot to pupate, so we gave him some soil to burrow into. Hopefully that does the trick!

Here’s hoping they’re doing well over the long weekend. I’ll check on them again Tuesday 🐛💕

The caterpillars are doing great! Eating and sleeping on repeat 🐛🌿 They’re loving their roses and dandelions, and I hope to see them bigger and healthy on Monday!

Day 2 of raising caterpillars 🐛

I guess we have class pets now! And we even have something new for Open House!

After some Googling, these caterpillars seem to be either armyworms or to***co budworms… maybe one of each? I think they both eat dandelions, so that’s perfect because they’re everywhere right now!

One of them barely moved all day, so I’m a little worried about it, but the other one is super active and climbed all the way up the netting looking for food! We’ll see if we can keep them alive and healthy. Only 15 days of school left, so I’m hoping we get to watch them grow and metamorphose before summer break!
