Our school times have changed slightly for the 2026-2027 school year. Early release days, students are now out at 1:45pm instead of 1:35pm.
While summer is just getting started, July 22nd, the first day of school, will be here before we know it! At the May Governing Board Meeting, new school hours were approved for the 2026-2027 school year. Families are encouraged to take a moment to review and jot down the updated start and end times, as schedules have slightly changed for our Elementary, Middle, and High Schools. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for another great year in Florence Unified School District!
Have you registered for the next school year yet? All new and returning FUSD students need to be registered before the first day of school. You can register by visiting our district website at: fusdaz.org/enroll-now

As an end of the year project that tied in well with our ecosystem unit, Ms. Schutz’s science class designed aquariums and built them. They had to create a shape that would go into a public location on a large scale, create an ecosystem with plants and fish that would thrive together in the tank, figure out the correct temperature of water, amount of salt needed (if it was a saltwater tank), the volume of the tank, and the gallons of water that would fit into the tank based on the volume. Then, using their dimensions, they had to scale down their tank to a buildable size and build it accurately based on those dimensions. Lastly, they had to put their fish and plants in the tank. These tanks turned out amazing! Thank you to all the parents that donated items such as tap, paint, and cardboard! 🐠
