Whether you're an experienced mobile vet seeking a better way, or you are starting from scratch... Hey there! I'm Dr. Eve Harrison.

I run a 6-figure integrative concierge house call practice in Los Angeles (and have a hilariously chatty cat named Maggie)! After graduating from vet school, I spent years working crazy hours in clinics, hospitals, emergency rooms, and operating rooms that left me so burnt out I almost quit entirely. I had a miserable work/life balance and knew that I needed to find a better way to give my patient

The things that restore me outside of work, music, yoga, forest time, are what allow me to show up fully present inside it.

When I protect time for these, I show up clearer, more patient with my clients, and less reactive to the noise.

We were trained to believe the medicine has to come first. Everything else second, if there is time left over. SPOILER ALERT... there is never time left over if you wait for it!

What restores you? Tell me below.

Navigating relationships with our house call clients is like dancing; both partners need to be in sync.

This kind of relationship with our clients, when we work in or around their homes, is special and way more intimate than the client relationships we have in the clinic.

Swipe thru to check out a few signs that something is off and may need tending to. Catching it early is especially important in the unique context of what we do.

If you’re sensing a disconnect, or a misalignment, it’s important to recognize it early, so that you can make adjustments, find a way to communicate that gets you both back into alignment….orrrrrrrr…. help your clients find a better match for their needs.

Good healthy boundaries that honor alignment with our clients … prevent resentment, burnout, and compassion fatigue. And that’s really important for us veterinarians!

Follow if you’re considering house call practice... this is the stuff I wish someone had handed me on day one!

These are my 5 favorite inventory items for doing stress free blood draws on a house call basis 😍

Lidocaine & Prilocaine cream - to numb the skin 20-30 mins before the draw

Alcohol swab pads - I find that dumping cold alcohol can be very shocking to the animal, so pads are much more gentle on them!

Churu - ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL, I usually have my client feed Churu while I’m positioning the animal

Mini Sharps container - I get mine from Amazon, they’re my favorite object that I bring on house calls

Calm cozy cat wrap - My absolute FAVORITE

P.S. Does anyone else store their lab tubes in their bra for safe keeping after you’ve got the samples lol....... That s**t is liquid gold - gotta keep it safe, right?! . P.P.S. Can anyone guess what my secret 6th favorite item is……🤩

Gaba!

(Or valerian or other herbal sedatives)
