Navigating relationships with our house call clients is like dancing; both partners need to be in sync.
This kind of relationship with our clients, when we work in or around their homes, is special and way more intimate than the client relationships we have in the clinic.
Swipe thru to check out a few signs that something is off and may need tending to. Catching it early is especially important in the unique context of what we do.
If you’re sensing a disconnect, or a misalignment, it’s important to recognize it early, so that you can make adjustments, find a way to communicate that gets you both back into alignment….orrrrrrrr…. help your clients find a better match for their needs.
Good healthy boundaries that honor alignment with our clients … prevent resentment, burnout, and compassion fatigue. And that’s really important for us veterinarians!
Follow if you’re considering house call practice... this is the stuff I wish someone had handed me on day one!
