We are excited to announce that beginning this August, The Roskamp Institute will host a monthly Caregiver Support Group led by Empath Health's Dementia Care Team.

Supporting someone living with dementia can be a challenging journey, and no caregiver should have to navigate it alone. This group will provide a welcoming space for caregivers to connect with others who understand their experiences, access valuable resources, and receive guidance from dementia care professionals.

As part of International Awareness Day for Chronic Immunological and Neurological Diseases observed on May 12, we recognize and honor veterans who continue to experience symptoms associated with Gulf War Illness following their service during the Gulf War.

Many people know the Roskamp Institute for our work in Alzheimer’s research, but for more than two decades, our scientists have also been deeply committed to advancing research focused on Gulf War Illness. We aim to better understand its causes, symptoms, and potential treatment approaches for the veterans affected.

We are proud to stand alongside our veteran community and remain committed to research that helps improve understanding, awareness, and quality of life.

The Roskamp Institute proudly celebrated a significant academic milestone as Arianna Cembran was awarded her Doctor of Philosophy in Neuroscience during a graduation ceremony held on April 28, 2026.

Dr. Cembran is the 20th graduate of the Institute’s PhD program and notably the first to graduate under The Roskamp Institute’s own licensure, marking a new era for the organization’s independent doctoral training program.

We are thrilled that she will be continuing at The Roskamp Institute as a scientist and project manager.
