From riding roller coasters as a child to dreaming of designing them one day, recent Out-of-Door grad Caleb Rodriguez ’26 has always been fascinated by how things work.

At ODA, Caleb embraced opportunities to explore a wide range of interests, from mathematics and physics to musicals, discovering that creativity and engineering often go hand in hand. This fall, he'll take that curiosity to the University of Central Florida, where he plans to study mechanical engineering and pursue a career designing theme park attractions.

Reflecting on his time at ODA, Caleb shared, "The best part of the school has to be the faculty...everyone was super supportive."

We are proud of all Caleb has accomplished and can't wait to see where his imagination, talent, and determination take him next.

✨ In the spirit of National Reading Month, we’re celebrating stories that transport us…

We’re proud to share that ODA alum, Dr. Brittany Warman ’03, has published Fairylore: A Compendium of the Fae Folk with Sterling Ethos/Hachette. A folklorist, scholar, and storyteller, Brittany explores magical traditions from around the world—inviting readers into a richly imagined (and deeply researched) world of fairies, myth, and meaning. From the classrooms of ODA to the pages of a published book, her journey is a reminder that curiosity—and a love of story—can take you anywhere.

Two members of the ODA Class of 2025 recently faced off at a Division I Club Soccer Tournament. Luke Sherry (Furman University) went head-to-head with Coby Rosenthal (Coastal Carolina University) in a great matchup between two familiar ODA standouts.

From the ODA fields to college competition, it’s always fun to see our alumni continuing to play the game they love — and occasionally running into each other along the way.
