Congratulations are in order for the University of Washington's Fulbright Scholarship awardees!
Four undergraduates were awarded funding to study, research or teach English abroad as part of this prestigious national scholarship program.
In total, seven UW Huskies, including graduate students and alumni, received Fulbright scholarships.

For students involved UW Community Engagement and Leadership Education - CELE Center programs, the community is their classroom.
Undergrads spend the year teaching elementary students about science, helping high schoolers apply for college or interning at local nonprofit organizations.
Students then share their reflections at the annual Spring CELEbration.
"I really learned so much about my personal positionality within my community, about my own privilege and what I can do to support my community," one student said.

Just a few weeks ago, more than 1,700 undergraduate students across more than 220 majors presented their research to peers, faculty, staff and the public.
They studied malaria vaccines, artificial intelligence, traumatic brain injuries, classical music, sleep routines and everything in between.

When Adelina Grace Sudarman found out she received a 2026 Truman Scholarship, she thought of her family – all of the work her parents put into her education, the struggles her Indonesian-speaking grandma faced in the American medical system, and the support her community has given her throughout her studies.
She also thought about her dreams to practice as a physician while pushing for policy changes that make health care more accessible to non-English speakers.
“Receiving this recognition is a signal that other people believe in those dreams, too,” Sudarman said.

Congratulations to the UW’s 2026 Goldwater Scholars! The scholarship provides financial assistance for graduate school for sophomores and juniors who wish to pursue careers in science, engineering or mathematics.
Our scholars research vaccines to combat malaria, help create maps of mouse brains, and analyze the effects of climate change on the West Coast. We’re so proud of Luciana Calle, Lorenzo McCleese, Alen Poehlman and Rachel Yin.
