The Meridian School

Together, Monarchs ran about 1,300 miles during recess throughout the school year. Some students ran a marathon’s distance, and one truly dedicated Monarch ran an ultramarathon! To celebrate this remarkable feat, Coach Caroline got slimed by members of Run Club! She said, “I was constantly blown away by the determination, goal-setting, and joy students got from running this year (rain or shine!).”

The end of the school year calls for many celebrations marking students’ milestones. One of the sweetest at Meridian is the Chrysalis Ceremony. Our PreKindergarten Monarchs are just starting their educational journey, and we are so proud of their growth as little learners!

We have the perfect invitation for Meridian’s 50th Anniversary Celebrations, created well in advance during the 25th Anniversary! Way back in September, PreK discovered a caterpillar in their garden! What began as a caterpillar rescue mission turned into an incredible opportunity for learning. After spending winter in its cocoon, it emerged as a Polyphemus moth! The children were amazed to finally see the adult moth after months of wondering and learning about each stage of its transformation, and we feel similar awe and pride at the students’ own growth over the course of this school year. Today is their annual end-of-year Chrysalis Ceremony, and we are so excited to celebrate our youngest Meridian Monarchs!

Inspired by the older students’ talent and courage to perform during MTV, our younger Monarchs put on their own talent show!

Our PreKindergarten classroom has transformed to match the Olympic National Park and a farmers’ market! Our Monarchs have loved playing in the same environments they are learning about during their land unit.
