The Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe kept the grow dormant until the passage of Medical Ma*****na in South Dakota.
On July 1, 2021, they opened Native Nations Cannabis, the first retail store in SD.
Today, the tribe is consulting with other tribes across the country to expand "Native Nations" standard operating procedures to help enhance tribal incomes for the sovereign nations that value the herb.

Henry Anslinger's aggressive, racially charged propaganda campaigns began the stigma still attached to cannabis use. This was the tipping point that took ma*****na from a home remedy herb to a vilified drug.
