Father’s Day is a moment to recognize the many forms fathering can take in families and communities.
Biological fathers, chosen fathers, mentors, uncles, grandfathers, and caregivers who offer presence and care in steady ways.
Thank you for the ways you show up, stay present, and keep learning along with us.

“And now we can all finally celebrate. The whole country together.”
This is what Opal Lee said when Juneteenth was declared a federal holiday.
Her advocacy of Juneteenth as a federal holiday earned Opal Lee the title “Grandmother of Juneteenth.” Ms. Lee is keenly aware of the ways that Juneteenth ties into freedom for all. At PJ we’re wondering how we can move toward the whole-country-together version that Ms. Lee envisions and how we do that as a community at large.
We know how parents play a special role in connecting family to community. How do parents find ways to talk about history, freedom, civil rights, race relations, slavery, and the 13th Amendment in spaces both safe and brave? We’d love to hear your thoughts about this!
This Juneteenth and all the year through, may we all find spaces both safe and brave to discuss the very freedoms that we sing about, pledge to, and live toward.

Research shows that compassion fatigue and burnout are real risks for those in helping professions.
This Mental Health Awareness Month, let's apply what we know: boundaries protect us, peer support sustains us, and our own mental wellness enables us to serve families effectively.
Everyone's health matters. 💚

Today is National Parenting Education Day.
Parenting doesn’t come with instructions and it was never meant to be done alone.
Every day, facilitators create space where families can reflect, connect, and try something new. Walking alongside parents as they discover what works for their family.
That’s the power of parenting education.
