The end of the school year is approaching fast! (last day June 18th) If you would like to recognize a special teacher or staff person at your child's school for all their hard work this year, consider honoring them with a STAR certificate from The Somerville Foundation (TSF) for $20. Discount available for multiple STARs, 5 for $80. Each recipient receives a beautiful certificate with your name and a personal message. TSF will deliver the certificates for you. The message can be from yourself or your child.

Enter your donation amount and use the "Write us a comment" option to enter staff names, school names, and messages (check the small box to open the field).

Purchase your STARs by midnight Monday, June 15th to ensure delivery that week.

Every dollar of your donation will go to TSF's Innovation in Education Grant Program that provides our children's schools with funding for educators to develop and implement innovative instructional methods, acquire additional teaching materials, as well as pilot new technology and community partnerships in the classroom. We are currently offering a new round of grants for educators to use next year. For our last round in 2024, TSF awarded over $6,000. We had an amazing time at our family STEAM night this week! Thank you to the many groups that came out to share activities and learning with our school community - including Playful Engineers, Buildwave, EnJinn Arts, Somerville High's robotics team, Science Club for Girls, Somerville Public Library (MA) and Somerville Climate Ambassadors! Plus National Parent Teacher Association for providing the funding and the many parent and community volunteers who made the night run smoothly. What a great night!

Our Family STEAM night is tomorrow! We have great activities and community tables planned - come visualize DNA, play with electric circuit art, engineer a chain reaction, co-create electronic music, play math-based games and much more. Also featuring the recently-returned from the World Championship SHS robotics team and their robot SWISH! Plus free food and raffle prizes. Hope to see you there!
