Juneteenth marks June 19, 1865 — the day the last enslaved people in Texas learned they were free. It’s a celebration of freedom and progress.

We hope you’ll take a moment to learn about Juneteenth and celebrate with us in spirit. At Arkay Incorporated, freedom and equality are part of building the inclusive community we work toward every day.

A message of hope and thanks for this holiday...

As we embark on a long holiday weekend, that hopefully reminds us of the overwhelming spirit of hope that occurs in a flawed world, I’d like to wish every single one of you and your families peace, love and happiness. Please cherish each other and the relationships you have built. Our interconnectedness is our power and our strength. It gets us through the imperfections and the disappointments that are part of the human experience. It also gives us the perspective to be good to each other and to love each other. I hope you all enjoy your time with your family and loved ones. It is a time to reflect on who we are and who we want to be. On what kind of a planet we want to live on.

Our Crossings participants made cutting boards using heat guns, and our Unity group put together gift mugs & glasses full of useful items for their dads.
Along the way, they practiced safety, followed directions, and used their creativity.

We appreciate the thought and effort they put into honoring the special men in their lives.

They’re part of the Arkay crew working at Team Wellness Center in Southgate.

Since 2021, Arkay has partnered with Team Wellness to provide cleaning services. Our team of 6 rotating participants keeps the space sparkling by cleaning restrooms, sweeping, mopping, disinfecting, and emptying trash — all with support from an Arkay Job Coach.

We’re proud of the whole team for the hard work they do each week.

...Disappearing art is a good problem to have!
Arkay Incorporated is helping Java Junction By Arkay fill their empty spaces with beautiful new art. The larger paintings by The Arc Downriver are $30 and the smaller paintings are $20. Funds go directly to the artist- your purchase makes a difference 🧡

Last week’s hygiene class covered staying clean and smelling fresh! Everyone got to practice safe shaving skills using balloons and went home with their own hygiene basket. Thank you to those who donated items to help with this activity.
