Our 4th graders have been hard at work studying Washington State's landforms and active volcanoes as they explore the essential question: How do the landforms of Washington State shape the way people live, work, and travel in the region?
They have also been researching and learning various extreme settings while considering the question: How does a challenging setting or physical environment change a person? It's been exciting to see students connect geography, science, and reading as they deepen their understanding of the world around them.

What a fantastic Field Day and end to an incredible school year! Our students enjoyed a day filled with laughter, smiles, games, and unforgettable memories.
One of the highlights was our pie-in-the-face fundraiser, where students raised, and voted for which staff members would take a pie to the face. Thanks to the generosity of our school community, we raised $946.00 for SpokAnimal C.A.R.E. !
A huge thank you to our amazing volunteers for helping make the day a success and to Kona Ice for providing a cool treat to celebrate. What a great way to finish the year at Holmes!

Our 4th graders had an incredible opportunity to dissect a pig’s heart as part of their learning around the Essential Question: What makes someone have a great heart—both figuratively and literally?
This hands-on experience brought learning to life and helped students connect science with deeper reflections on kindness, compassion, and character.
Thank you to our amazing 4th grade teachers for creating meaningful learning opportunities that inspire curiosity and engagement in our students!
