Last week, we wrapped up the school year with two special milestones. We cheered on our 5th graders as they "stepped up" to middle school and celebrated our 8th-grade graduates as they crossed the stage and received their diplomas!

Graduation featured inspiring remarks from State Representative Carlos GonzΓ‘lez (), reflections from Class President Jacob Arroyo, and lots of cheers from the crowd. Congratulations to the Springfield Prep Class of 2026β€”we can't wait to see what comes next! πŸ’™πŸ’š

At yesterday's Kindergarten Step Up Celebration, families packed the room to celebrate this important milestone and cheer on our youngest learners as they sang to the crowd and earned personalized awards. We also celebrated students who had perfect attendance and homework completion! A major feat for these kiddos and their parents!

A special thank you to our Kindergarten teachers, whose hard work, patience, and belief in their students helped make this year such a success. And thank you to our families for your partnership throughout the year. πŸ’™πŸ’šπŸ“šβœ¨

Field Day is always one of the most anticipated days of the year, and this year's event did not disappoint! β˜€οΈπŸŽ‰

Despite the heat, students, staff, and parent volunteers were great sports all morning long. With plenty of shade breaks, lots of water, and just-in-time sprinkler or hose cooldowns, everyone had a great time!

A huge thank you to our staff and family volunteers who helped make the day a success. With special thanks to International College for generously allowing us to use their fields, Station 6 from the Springfield Fire Department, and the team of volunteers from ! We are grateful for the partnership and the space to make memories together! πŸ’™πŸ’š

As we celebrate Pride Month, we're sharing a message from our 2nd graders about the kind of community they're helping to build at Springfield Prep: "At our school, everyone belongs. We are kind to each other. We include everyone. We celebrate differences. Be yourself. Love yourself. Kindness matters. You matter."
We're proud to be a school where students learn that everyone deserves to feel welcomed, respected, and celebrated for who they are.

Thanks to our 2nd-grade students and teachers for spreading this message in and beyond our school community!

πŸ’΅πŸ’‘ This week, our Middle Schoolers put financial literacy into action with Money for Life! Through interactive, student-designed, gamified booths, students explored how everyday money decisions can shape future opportunities. Topics ranged from budgeting, investing, and transportation costs to career choices, college debt, and more. Each booth challenged visitors to think critically and solve problems in a creative, playful way.

We believe these conversations are worth starting early and revisiting often. Building financial literacy helps students develop the knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions that can set them up for success in high school, college, careers, and beyond.

A huge thank you to our Math Team, Ms. Reid, Ms. Gray, Ms. Deleon, and Ms. Auger, for making this event happen, and to our Board members and community partners who joined us to ask questions, offer encouragement, and celebrate our students' hard work. πŸ‘πŸŽ‰

Our final Middle School Community Meeting of the year ended on a high note last week as students in our dance electives took the stage to share what they've been working on this trimester with dance teacher extraordinaire, Ms. Jones!

From moving lyrical performances to explosively energetic routines, students brought incredible enthusiasm and skill to the spotlight. Just as memorable was the support they showed each other, with classmates cheering one another on every step of the way. It was a fitting celebration for our graduating 8th graders' last community meeting ever!

From the first beat to the final bow, last Thursday's Michael Jackson-themed Dance Team Show was unforgettable. With powerful storytelling, dramatic moments, and amazing performances, our dancers showcased months of hard work and talent.

We're incredibly grateful to Dance Teacher and Dance Team Coach Alexus Jones, who somehow manages to outdo herself year after year. Her vision and commitment create opportunities for students to shine in remarkable ways.

If you missed the showβ€”or just want moreβ€”catch the Springfield Prep Dance Team at the Springfield Symphony Orchestra's Juneteenth Celebration on June 19 at 12:30 PM!

It was a big week for language learning and celebrating bilingualism at Springfield Prep. On Wednesday, families and staff gathered for our 5th Annual English/Spanish Night to practice language skills together over pizza and conversation. Then this morning, students proudly showed off the words they've learned this year during our joyful Vocabulary Parade, joined by families, music, and lots of cheering.

A huge shoutout to ESL Coordinator Maggie Collins and ESL Teacher Hannah Hall for creating meaningful opportunities that celebrate multilingualism and support our students and families all year long. πŸ’™πŸ’š
