Remember to keep your devices charged in case of a power outage, unplug electronic devices such as televisions and computers to help to eliminate damage from power surges, secure outdoor items like patio furniture, and ‼️NEVER plug a backup generator directly into your home‼️ — it could cause ‘backfeed’ and seriously injure anyone near power lines, especially crews working to restore power.

NEVER plug a portable generator directly into your home, and make sure permanently installed standby generators have an approved transfer safety switch to help prevent electrical backfeed into the utility system.
