A group of 10 students from Chicago's Noble Schools are spending the week at for a Civic Leadership Camp focused on developing the next generation of leaders. 🌟
Today, students are challenging themselves on the UIS Challenge Course, building teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills while stepping outside their comfort zones.
Later this week, they'll visit the Illinois State Capitol and Springfield City Hall to meet with public officials and learn how civic engagement can create positive change in their communities.

Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and creator of The 1619 Project, Nikole Hannah-Jones, is coming to Springfield as part of the Juneteenth Lecture Series.
The free public event, titled "Free-ish: Juneteenth and the Long Legacy of 1619," will explore the enduring legacy of slavery in America and the ongoing struggle for racial justice and equity. It's sponsored by the UIS Center for Lincoln Studies.
