Our students came together to volunteer at the Central Illinois Foodbank today. Together they bagged 2,730 pounds of rice, ground pork, and ground beef. This will serve 2,275 meals tomorrow at the New Vision Food Pantry in Decatur!

The National Institutes of Health funds most medical research in the U.S. But a new Trump administration policy would significantly lower the agency’s support for major research institutions across the country. The policy, currently blocked by a federal court, would limit NIH research funding for “indirect costs,” or overhead expenses, to 15% -- far below what some institutions receive.
On Tuesday, SIU Medicine Associate Dean of Research Dr. Don Torry talked with NPR reporters about the impact these cuts could have on research.
