When politicians rewrite history, students pay the price.
After reviewing Florida's new state-funded U.S. history course, the 14,000-member American Historical Association delivered a blunt assessment:
Students deserve classrooms guided by educators, historians, and academic standards, not political agendas.

VICTORY FOR EDUCATORS IN MARTIN COUNTY! ๐
Today, educators made their voices heard loud and clear:
โ
UNITY WON
โ
SOLIDARITY WON
โ
MCEA WON
Official Election Results:
MCEA: 437 votes (81.7%)
UTMC: 93 votes (17.4%)
Against Representation: 5 votes
Out of 1,128 eligible voters, the challenging organization received support from only 8.2% of the bargaining unit.
Despite months of attacks, misinformation, outside interference, and attempts to divide educators, Martin County educators overwhelmingly chose to stand together and stick with their union.
This victory belongs to:
โ Our Building Reps
โ Our worksite leaders
โ Every member who made a call, sent a text, followed up on ballots, and stood proudly with MCEA
Most importantly, this victory belongs to the educators who refused to let outside groups define our future.
For over 50 years, MCEA has fought for educators, public education, and our students โ and today, educators chose to continue that legacy.
We are stronger together.
We are united.
And we are just getting started.

Under Gov. DeSantis' leadership, the cost of living in Florida has skyrocketedโoutpacing both the stateโs own history and the rest of the South.
Groceries. Childcare. Utilities. All up.
Paychecks? Not keeping up.
Floridaโs leaders canโt keep ignoring the struggles of working families. Itโs time to put policies in place that actually help Floridians succeed, not fall further behind. Read more: https://bit.ly/3OHcejs

I just heard FEA is now 200-0 in PERC elections with an average yes vote of 95%! The Freedom Foundation (who is backing the United Teachers group) has spent millions in places like Miami and never got more than 10% of the vote.
Teachers donโt trust the Freedom Foundation and for good reasonโฆ they are not for teachers! MCEA is made up of teachers to support teachers. We have ALWAYS been there for our members (and non-members).
If every union member turned in their ballot with a YES vote for MCEA, not only would we win the election easily (since the majority of teachers are MCEA members), but we would also send a powerful message to those who donโt care about us that enough is enough and we arenโt going to be bullied. MCEA isnโt going away anytime soon, but in order to ensure that, you MUST VOTE YES for MCEA and tell all your colleagues on your campuses to do the same!
Solidarity now and solidarity forever! โ

Passing a budget is the one job Florida lawmakers are required to finish each Legislative Session.
Last year, they went into overtime, costing taxpayers $259,000. Now, as Floridians are facing rising costs and a growing affordability crisis, theyโre on track to do it again for the second year in a row.
Floridians can't afford to keep footing the bill for lawmakersโ delays.
