PCOM honors and celebrates Juneteenth—the day marking the end of slavery in the United States. It was on June 19, 1865, that Union soldiers, led by General Gordon Granger, landed at Galveston, Texas with news that the American Civil War had ended and that the enslaved were now free–more than two years after Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation that freed slaves.
Regular college operations will be closed on Friday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth.

Serving up more than just a good meal 🥘
Students recently put their culinary skills to the test during a Culinary Medicine course, exploring how food can support health and help prevent disease through the connection between nutrition and biochemistry.
Great job, students! (And don’t forget to add ‘Master Chef’ to your resume 🧑🍳)
