Every child can learn! If you helped your child learn to walk and talk, you can create an environmen

I specialize in the Suzuki Method with a heavy dose of neurodivergent accommodations. Why? Because my entire household is neurodivergent and that makes teaching your neurospicy kiddo feel pretty natural to me.

Here's an example of what feels normal in our household:

"I got the hardware for my child's indoor swing swapped out (old hardware pictured) before it snapped this time!

"This child has been a heavy swing/bounce/rock movement-seeker since before birth. She always shocks people with how extreme her swinging is and I've had to have an engineer friend come in to build a rig that withstand the dynamic loads. Since this is the third set of hardware that she's ground down, we now do routine checks and replacements before it reaches a critical failure."

Here's a lo-rez demo from the Amore! set I'm performing at retirement and memory care units this month. This song is Elegie by Massenet; one of the classical art songs I sprinkled into the set. It was surprisingly well received!

Studio updates and new songs!

I see the light at the end of the post-divorce-parenting transition tunnel, and as I take stock of where I'm at as a head of the household, I realize that I'm two kids deep into tween parenting, and no longer have any toddlers at all.

It's exciting and tons of fun, but like a rollercoaster, not a ferris wheel. 😜

My mentors are helping me provide:

clear boundaries,
consistent follow-through,
sleep/snacks,
and close community connections.

It's a lot like toddler parenting, actually. Feels like I'm getting a second chance to be the mom I wanted to be, and I'm here for it!

I love sharing how I help my students have successful home practices!

In this video I talk about using wooden blocks as a visual aid for organizing sections of a longer piece.

Teacher Janet got promoted - to Janitor Janet!

She's donning gloves and wiping down piano keys and high-touch areas of the studio between students so you can confidently attend lessons in-person, if you choose.

What a difference a few plants can make!

The studio is starting to feel like an oasis for ability development. In fact, Teacher Janet's been doing yoga in between lessons and gives it two thumbs up for the "ommm" factor!

Teacher Janet is thrilled to be prepping the studio for both in-person and continued remote lessons!

Look at that gorgeous line of keys, just waiting for the day we re-open and enroll new students.

Teacher Janet LOVES making custom videos for her students so they know exactly what to practice after a new lesson.

Sometimes they take a few tries, though... 😄
