A summer Art Camp designed for students interested in video games to gain exposure to the inner workings of how games are created through hands-on development of a playable game.

Gavin Rich is a Senior Artist and Designer in the Video Game industry with 20 years of experience across over 25 titles. During that time in games he has also taught and mentored countless young artists. Gavin has a playful, enthusiastic approach to teaching that makes ideas accessible and easy to grasp while giving a deep understanding of the subject.

Interested in Book Illustration? Join us for a presentation by a published Illustrator, followed by a hands on drawing session. NCAD Alum Rose Soini (Class of 2017) will be sharing her process for creating book illustration using traditional media. She’ll be sharing her insight on collaborating with a team, making revisions, and working within deadlines.

Rose Soini has illustrated several books with Schaffer Publishing and in collaboration with author Katherine Pryor.

Workshop takes place Wednesday August 12th, 10am - 1:00pm right here on our Tacoma campus located at 1126 Pacific Avenue in downtown Tacoma, WA

Seymour Conservatory at Wright Park Acrylic Painting from Derek Gundy’s Painting Class. Sophomore Painting students can look forward to a field trip sometime this semester sketching on location and gathering visual information for studio paintings.
