Memories of Hawaii by Judy Cook. Memories of Hawaii is a visual memory of our trips to the islands over the last 15 years. Each accordion panel unfolds as a collage of sunrises, sunsets, landscapes, ocean waves, and fragments of island life. The accordion structure allows the book to expand and contract, mirroring the ebb and flow of memory. When fully opened, the panels form a continuous panorama. This accordion book celebrates the sensory and emotional landscape of Hawaii.

Becoming by Debbi Commodore. Becoming is a set of artist books-Persistence, Attention, and Courage-reflecting on 15 years of becoming the artist I am and imagining the years ahead. Persistence speaks to the past with bold layered colors; Attention inhabits the present, holding what is known and the recognition that I arrived here through the support of others; Courage looks forward with muted, dreamlike tones. The triangular structure gathers past, present, and future, while stitches mark time.

Bound in Daniel E. Kelm's wire-edge structure, Stonehenge, Fabriano Tiziano, Fabriano Unica, pochoir monoprints, brass rods, various DMC and beading thread.

Knowing Your Worth with D.A. Navoti

As a creative, one of the biggest struggles can be measuring and understanding your worth as an artist. In this 1.5 hour workshop, artist D.A. Navoti will walk participants through identifying and honoring their unique skillsets and areas of expertise, brainstorming strategies to expand one’s income revenues, and approaches to pricing work, negotiating pay rates, and considerations when booking opportunities based in one’s worth and skillsets

Lo Shu: A Peregrination by Pat Chupa and Belinda Hill. Lo Shu, our wise tortoise, is a storyteller. She tells stories from cultures around the world about the wisdom and teachings that turtles have given to their peoples; and stories that include the plight and future of turtles today. We collected a few of these stories into nine mini-books. The theme of “15” launched our peregrination, which led us to the Chinese story of the Turtle and the Lo Shu Magic Square.

Fifteen Questions Fifteen Women by Judith Christensen. I asked 15 women-aged 29 to 80 to choose one of 15 questions to answer. The responses were forthright, thoughtful, and thought-provoking. The Turkish map fold creates a mini-book to present each person's reply because these stories were part of the map of their lives. Presented as a whole, the combination of their stories represents a mapping of women's lives from the 1950’s to now.

15 Objects by Jane Carlin.
15 Objects is simple but deeply personal: exploring our relationship with the objects that shape our lives. I wrote about 15 important objects and invited 15 friends to share a story about an object that mattered to them. This is my first book and it offered a great opportunity to collaborate with my daughter.
Double fold accordion book, digital photos, text on vellum paper. Translucent overlays reveal a continuous thread that runs through the book as a symbol of what ties the entries together.

Legacy and Metaphor: 15 Views of Cherry Trees by Nancy Brones.
What is a legacy? In spring 1940, College of Puget Sound students presented a gift of 16 ornamental Japanese cherry trees to the school. Over time, the gift became a "campus legacy" of growth and metaphor representing war, relocation, neglect, loss, being forgotten and finally remembrance. Blossoms continue to arrive each spring.
