Curran Apple Orchard Summer Concerts!
Join us on the following Thursdays from 6:30-8pm for FREE summer concerts. Bring picnics, blankets and lawn chairs (alcohol not allowed in City parks). The Chambers Bay Women’s Club will be selling bottled water and ice cream at the barn.
July 23 – James Lee Murray Band (soul, funk and blues)
July 30 – The Mistaken (American roots)
August 6 – Rock and Roll Magic (classic rock)
August 13 – Octopus Ballet (Americana and folk)
August 20 – JBLM First Army Corp Band
The orchard is located at 3920 Grandview Drive W in University Place. In case of inclement weather, the concerts will be relocated to the Curtis HS Cafeteria.
Special thanks to Coldwell Banker, Upward Title, Assurant Home Warranty and Guaranteed Rate for sponsoring this year’s summer concert series. Also thank you to our neighbor and longtime supporter, United Church, for allowing visitors to use their parking lot for the concerts.
Note: The UP Historical Society will also be open at 6pm on concert nights for those who are interested in checking out the museum which is located in the Curran house on top of the hill overlooking the orchard. See you in the orchard!

The Curran's two horses, Brewster and Christopher, also enjoyed visits from local children.
Mary and Charles Curran purchased a 7.33 acre parcel of land in 1951 and transformed it into an apple orchard with 250 Gravenstein, Macintosh and Golden Delicious apple trees that quickly became a popular local landmark. In 1993, the University Place Community Council successfully obtained Conservation Futures funds from Pierce County to preserve the orchard forever as a park.

CORE is a volunteer group dedicated to the Curran Apple Orchard Park in University Place.
The group is sponsoring a t-shirt design contest to celebrate the orchard along with raising funds for future activities. Designs should represent the orchard and are limited to a maximum
of three colors.
The contest is open to everyone and the winner will receive $100, a free t-shirt and acknowledgement on the orchard website.
