📚 Ms. McDonald is sharing her favorite summer read for her 2nd graders! What books are you digging into this summer? ☀️

“Jack and the Giant by Jim Harris is one of my favorite read-alouds for my 2nd graders because it captures their attention while opening the door for meaningful discussions. I use the story to connect literacy with biblical themes such as courage, faith, and standing up for what is right. As we read, we compare Jack’s experience to David facing Goliath and discuss how God can help us overcome the “giants” in our own lives. It’s a fun story that helps my students grow both as readers and as followers of Christ.”

👨‍🍳🍓 Chef Week was a recipe for fun at Summer Shine Camp! From mixing and measuring to tasting delicious creations, our campers explored new foods, learned kitchen skills, and discovered the joy of cooking together. We loved seeing their creativity shine all week long! 🍪
