Congratulations to our very own Wendi Goodson-Celerin, BSN ’88, MSN ’98, DNP ’18, on being named a recipient of the 2026 USF Distinguished Alumni Award! 👏💚🤘

A proud three-time Bull Nurse, Wendi has built an incredible career dedicated to nursing leadership, patient care and improving health outcomes across our community.

Today, she serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Nursing Executive at Florida Health Sciences Center, leading nursing services across the academic health system, including Tampa General Hospital.

Many of our graduates also know Wendi as a familiar face at USF College of Nursing pinning ceremonies, where she has inspired future nurses with her wisdom, leadership and passion for the profession.

Wendi's accomplishments and service exemplify what it means to be a Bull Nurse, and we couldn't be prouder to celebrate this well-deserved recognition.

The USF College of Nursing proudly recognizes Dean Usha Menon, PhD, RN, FAAN, FSBM, on her induction as a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).

One of the highest honors in the scientific community, election as an AAAS Fellow recognizes individuals whose distinguished efforts have advanced science and its applications for the benefit of society.

Dr. Menon was honored for her leadership and contributions to nursing science and community-engaged research that improves health outcomes and advances health equity. As senior associate vice president at USF Health and dean of the USF College of Nursing, she has championed interdisciplinary collaboration, scientific discovery and the development of the next generation of nurse scientists and healthcare leaders.

We congratulate Dr. Menon on this prestigious recognition and thank her for her continued dedication to advancing nursing research, education and innovation.

Whether he's visiting our simulation labs, celebrating graduates or supporting future Bull Nurses, Rocky reminds us what it means to lead with pride, passion and a little bit of Bull spirit.

Things are heating up in the Nurse Anesthesiology program 🔥🚨

This high-fidelity simulation challenges students to respond to one of the most critical airway emergencies: an operating room fire during a tracheostomy procedure. With realistic smoke effects, simulated flames, emergency alarms and rapid-response decision-making, students gain hands-on experience managing a rare but life-threatening event in a safe learning environment.

Experiential learning like this helps prepare future nurse anesthesiologists to stay calm under pressure and deliver safe patient care when every second counts. 🤘💚

We were proud to celebrate the 50 students who completed the Pepin Family USF Nursing Pathway Summer Program! 👏💚

The program concluded with a special recognition ceremony honoring the students' hard work, growth and commitment throughout the week.

A special thank you to Tina Pepin and the Pepin Family Foundation for their continued support. According to Tina Pepin, the Pepin Family USF Nursing Pathway Summer Program is the only nursing-focused pathway program supported by the foundation, making this opportunity even more meaningful for aspiring future nurses.

They've also had the opportunity to connect with USF College of Nursing faculty, students and advisors while learning more about the many pathways available in nursing.

We're excited to continue inspiring the next generation of healthcare leaders throughout the week!
