On June 14, we observe Flag Day, commemorating the adoption of the United States flag by the Continental Congress in 1777.

The American flag represents the ideals, freedoms, and opportunities that unite us as a nation. It serves as a symbol of resilience, service, and the shared responsibility we have to contribute to our communities and country.

Flag Day also provides an opportunity to recognize those who dedicate themselves to public service, including members of the Armed Forces, veterans, first responders, public servants, and community leaders. Their commitment to serving others reflects many of the values our flag represents.

As we observe Flag Day, we invite you to reflect on what the American flag means to you and the ways individuals across our nation demonstrate service, citizenship, and patriotism every day.

On June 14, 2026, we celebrate the 251st Birthday of the United States Army.

Since its establishment in 1775, the Army has served our nation with honor, courage, and commitment through times of peace and conflict. For more than two centuries, Soldiers have answered the call to defend our country, support communities, and uphold the values that define our nation.
