Bronx Community College is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Alexander Ott as Dean of Curriculum Advancement and Student Achievement, effective immediately.
Dr. Ott brings more than 20 years of leadership in higher education and has been a valued member of the BCC community, most recently serving as Associate Dean of Academic Affairs for Curriculum Matters and Academic Programs.
In his new role, he will lead efforts to advance curriculum innovation and support student success across the College.

The Bronx Community College Foundation Board of Directors recently came together for a meaningful meeting, reflecting on a year of progress and looking ahead as BCC prepares to celebrate its 70th Anniversary.
The conversation highlighted impactful initiatives like the College’s $1 million Green Action Challenge grant, which supports campus sustainability, workforce development, and student engagement in the green economy—helping open new pathways for our students.
The Board also shared a special moment celebrating President Dr. Larry D. Johnson, Jr., recognizing his leadership and dedication to the BCC community.
As we approach this milestone year, the Foundation remains committed to supporting student success and strengthening opportunities across the Bronx.

Last October, Bronx native and NBA All-Star Kemba Walker shared a message of encouragement with Bronx Community College student-athletes, highlighting the importance of dedication and hard work.
Today, students, faculty, and staff across Bronx Community College are celebrating this championship run and the perseverance behind it. In a Finals marked by intensity and dramatic finishes—including one of the greatest comebacks in NBA history—the team’s resilience has been on full display.

Bronx Community College was proud to be represented at the inaugural Bronx Economic Development Summit, where leaders from across the borough gathered to advance a shared vision for a stronger, more sustainable future.
Elena Perez, Project Director of BCC’s Green Action Challenge, participated in Saturday’s workshop on Energy Resilience Initiatives in the Bronx, highlighting the importance of collaboration in building energy resilience across our communities.
At BCC, Elena leads the College’s sustainability efforts through a $1 million Green Action Challenge grant, supporting initiatives in campus sustainability, workforce development, and student engagement in the green economy. Her participation in this important conversation reflects BCC’s ongoing commitment to building climate resilience and expanding opportunities for Bronx residents.
