Sound Begi
nnings - Ages 0-4:
Sound Beginnings is a family music class for children ages 0-4 and a parent or caregiver. By providing a solid music and preschool foundation, Sound Beginnings prepares students for success in Let's Play Music and Kindergarten. Classes include singing, movement, instrument play, nursery rhymes, games, stories, and ear training activities. Let's Play Music - Ages 4-6:
Let's Play Music is a three-year program that solves the problem that a child is most ready to learn music at an early age, but his fingers and letter skills are not ready until later. We take full advantage of the brain's ability to absorb musical concepts and teach skills in an age appropriate way. We play tone bells and autoharp in the 1st year and piano in the 2nd & 3rd year. Presto - Ages 7-12:
This is a two-year beginning piano course for students ages 7-12 that teaches all of the skills from Let's Play Music. Because students are older and have more developed dexterity, we have added heavy emphasis on proper piano technique and repertoire. Camps:
We offer a Rock Band Camp every summer where we combine guitar, keyboard, drum, ukulele, and voice students into different bands and they get to jam out together. We learn 3-4 songs over the course of the week and perform them together in a concert at the end. Playing in a band requires a different set of skills than those acquired in private lessons - students come away with a greater ability to listen and play in time with the other musicians in their band.
