Our ELD students had an out-of-this-world opportunity when amateur astronomer John Haien visited to share his passion for space! Students were treated to an unforgettable experience as they looked through his telescope and got a close-up view of the moon. 🌕
This hands-on experience sparked curiosity and excitement, helping students build their understanding of how to observe and talk about the sun, moon, and planets.
Thank you, John Haien, for inspiring our young learners and bringing science to life in such a memorable way!

As we kick off summer, we’re looking back on a fantastic field trip our 2nd graders enjoyed at Anythink Wright Farms! Students had a wonderful time during story time, singing songs, and learning all about how the library works behind the scenes, including the book drop and automated book sorter.
They also explored the Studio Makerspace, where they discovered creative tools like 3D printers, a sticker maker, poster printer, and engraver! There is so many exciting ways to design and create!
Looking for summer fun? Anythink’s My Summer program is packed with activities for all ages. And here’s a bonus—when you sign up online, you can choose tickets to the Denver Zoo, Botanic Gardens, or Butterfly Pavilion!
Thank you, for an engaging and inspiring visit. We hope our students keep reading, creating, and exploring all summer long!

🌎✨ Happy World Environment Day! ✨🌎
At Westgate, caring for our planet isn’t just a one-day celebration. It’s part of who we are every day. From our youngest learners to our high school students, we build environmental education and stewardship into learning across all grades, K–12. Before school got out many students helped to clean up our garden beds and around the school.
Our students grow knowledge alongside our gardens, learn responsibility through caring for animals, and develop a deep respect for the natural world around them.
As summer begins, we invite our families to stay connected by stopping by to help care for our gardens and animals, lend a hand, and continue nurturing the environment we all share.
Together, we’re growing more than plants—we’re growing future stewards of our planet. 💚

Yesterday we said a heartfelt "Happy Retirement" to our wonderful Ms. Sonya! Stories of the impact she had on students and beautiful memories from teachers and staff were shared. Her years of service in education and these last few here at Westgate are a testament to her caring nature and the amazing person she is.
Although we will miss seeing her on a daily basis, in her wonderful fashion, she said she'd be back to volunteer! 💕 We do hope to see her once in a while.
Have a superbly wonderful retirement Ms. Sonya! You deserve it!
