It can be tempting to focus on keeping things clean and organized, but some of the best learning happens when children have the freedom to explore with their whole bodies and all their senses. Digging in the garden, mixing colors, splashing in water, and creating with clay help children develop skills that support learning for years to come.
At Horizon Hills, we believe children learn best through hands-on experiences, curiosity, and play.

A garden is more than a place to grow flowers and vegetables. It is a place where children can ask questions, make discoveries, and learn how living things change over time. From planting seeds to spotting butterflies, every visit offers a new opportunity for learning.
Our campus gives children space to connect with nature while building confidence, curiosity, and a sense of responsibility.

Summer can bring pressure to fill every day with big adventures, camps, and activities. While those things can be wonderful, children also thrive in the small moments. Talking while you water the garden, building a blanket fort, sharing a snack, or watching the clouds together all help build strong relationships. Give yourself permission to slow down and enjoy the season one day at a time.

Summer means more time outside, which is wonderful for play, exploration, and family adventures. It also means paying extra attention to sun safety, especially for young children whose skin is more sensitive to UV rays.
Experts recommend using broad-spectrum sunscreen, offering water frequently, wearing protective clothing and hats, and taking breaks in the shade throughout the day. Small daily habits help children stay comfortable, healthy, and ready to enjoy all the fun summer has to offer.

The end of the school year always feels a little bittersweet. We’ve watched children make friends, gain confidence, try new things, and grow in ways both big and tiny. Thank you for letting us be part of your family’s year. If you’re not ready for the fun to end yet, we’d love to see you this summer or welcome you back in the fall.

Bringing home a new baby is a huge transition for the whole family, especially older siblings who are suddenly sharing attention, routines, and space. Tonight’s workshop is designed to give parents practical tools that actually help, not just vague advice to “include the sibling more.” We’ll talk about connection, behavior, emotional adjustment, and ways to make the transition feel less overwhelming for everyone involved.

There’s something really special about seeing kids and grownups laughing together over something as simple as a bingo card and a handful of prizes. Events like this remind us that community gets built in small moments: cheering each other on, sharing chips and salsa, and hearing a table erupt because someone finally got five in a row. We hope you’ll join us for a fun, low-pressure evening together.

When families leave reviews, it does more than boost an algorithm. It helps other parents find a community they can trust during a stage of life that can feel overwhelming and isolating.
A recent family shared:
“We love Horizon Hills. I attended the school when I was 3 years old, my son (age 3) has been attending for the last two years, and soon my daughter (1) will be enrolling.”
Hearing that kind of multi-generational connection means a lot to us. If Horizon Hills has impacted your family, we’d be incredibly grateful if you shared a review on Yelp or Google. Your words genuinely help other families find their home away from home.
