☘️🌊 STAFFULTY SUMMER SPOTLIGHT 🌊☘️
Staffulty member Trevor Hoffman recently participated in an immersive three-day professional development program hosted through a collaboration between Old Woman Creek, Erie Conservation District, & The Ohio State University’s Stone Lab.
Alongside fellow Ohio educators, Trevor explored the Lake Erie Islands by boat while learning about Great Lakes fisheries, water conservation efforts, the glaciers that shaped the region, & the important role Lake Erie played during the War of 1812. Participants also paddled & conducted electrofishing activities in Old Woman Creek to gain firsthand experience with aquatic ecosystems, soil science, & conservation practices that help protect our watershed.
The experience concluded with educators sharing ideas & strategies for bringing these real-world lessons back to classrooms across Ohio, helping students better understand the importance of environmental stewardship & the natural resources that surround us.
Thank you, Trevor, for your commitment to lifelong learning & for creating meaningful opportunities for our students to connect classroom learning with the world around them!!!
