The MADE camp comes to a close today. This morning's visit to Scott High School's Advanced Manufacturing and Machining facility allowed students to make slime, program a Universal Robot, engineer a toothpick and marshmallow tower, and engrave dog tags. The afternoon session at Toledo Tool and Die included a comprehensive tour of the stamping floor, shipping and receiving, and quality control departments. Over the course of the week, students acquired knowledge on aligning their high school education with their future career objectives to ensure a smooth transition into the workforce or post secondary education after graduation.
We want to thank all of our partners.

MADE camp has had a bustling week so far. On Monday, attendees went to UAW Local 14 and GM's propulsion systems plant, then headed to Toledo Technology Academy of Engineering. There, they built solar cars and used solar-powered microwaves to prepare S’mores, also testing wind with their kites. Tuesday's schedule included a visit to Waite High School for welding and learning about fire and electricity. The students also worked with the Toledo Museum of Art on a fused glass project and toured NSG-Pilkington's R&D center. Today students visited ANSAT's Natural Science Technology Campus for program overviews and a tortoise food preference experiment. Later, they visited First Solar for a tour and created solar-powered bugs.

Today was the first day of MADE (Manufacturing and Design Experience) camp. The morning session was held at the UAW Local 14 Hall, where students learned about safety in GM's propulsion plant. Students then toured GM's propulsion plant, where the staff and tour guides were exceptional, demonstrating their daily tasks and explaining the science and design behind their work.
We want to thank UAW Local 14 and GM for an amazing kickoff to our week!
