HeartLight Center and Smith Life & Legacy are debuting the HeartLight Connect Professionals Group—a monthly gathering specifically for local individuals working in grief support, end-of-life care, and bereavement services. Come together with fellow professionals to share resources, gain insights, and experience meaningful peer support.

Our next gathering is July 1st at 627 Smithview Drive, Maryville, TN. We hope to see you there as we build this supportive network together.

You may have found us because you are anticipating a loss, have experienced a loss, or are supporting someone who is grieving. We are glad you are here and want to offer our help in finding the support that is most meaningful to you or the person you care about.

Information can be powerful, and having a basic understanding of what grief is and what happens when we grieve can normalize what can be an unfamiliar experience.

Grief impacts everyone differently, and understanding the logistics of how it affects our minds and bodies can be a powerful step toward healing.

We invite you to join us for an upcoming educational seminar designed to support you in better understanding your own experience of grief.

📌 Please note: This is an informational, lecture-style presentation rather than a traditional interactive support group.

There will be time for questions at the conclusion of the presentation, and participation is always entirely optional. If you or someone you know could benefit from this foundational grief education, please visit our website to register.

Caps off to our incredible HeartLight Center interns! 🎓✨
We recently gathered to celebrate this amazing group, and we couldn't be prouder of the dedication, empathy, and heart they’ve brought to our community. Each and every one of them shares a deep, beautiful heart for grief support. As they take their next big steps into the world, we know they are going to do incredible things.

Sending a massive congratulations and thank you to:
Ben & Tiffany – heading into their Master’s programs for Mental Health Counseling!
Savanna & Cierra – officially graduated with their Master’s in Social Work (MSW)!
Alyssa – moving onward and wrapping up her Mental Health Counseling degree!
Kaitlin – midway through her MSW, and was a huge help developing and expanding our programs in Wisconsin!

We are so incredibly proud of you all and can’t wait to see the healing and hope you’ll continue to bring into the world. 💙

When words fall short, music has a way of stepping in. 🎶🤍

Our incredible intern Kaitlin recently wrote a moving Heart to Heart piece titled "Searching for Common Humanity in Grief through Music"—and it’s the perfect inspiration for our upcoming workshop.

Join us on June 13th at HeartLight Center for Exploring Grief in Music. This experiential workshop offers a supportive space to connect with others, use music to process loss, express complex emotions, and honor the people we love when words aren't enough.

Read the full letter and register for the workshop on our website now.
