This month we learned all about pond life! Extended art projects like these pond murals are wonderful for developing comprehension! Giving students more than one day on a project gives them time to make decisions, plan, and absorb what they learn.

Loose parts are great opened ended play to develop creativity, critical thinking and problem solving! I love watching what the kiddos come up with! Here we have a tic tac toe game, a beach with shovel and bucket, happy face, pickaxe, and more creative designs!

Preschoolers are not built to sit and listen. Our circle time is hands on because they actually NEED movement to focus. I can tell my students that planets orbit the sun or I can give them an interaction with props that makes that concept more concrete and memorable.
