🌱🌎🦋✨ 今天的環保課特別邀請講師蒞臨，帶領孩子們深入認識蝴蝶的生命週期，以及大自然中奧妙的生態關係。透過生動有趣的講解、豐富的展示與互動問答，孩子們彷彿踏上一場探索生命的旅程，充滿驚喜、好奇與發現！ 🤩🔍🍃🌼💚

🥚➡️🐛➡️🟢➡️🦋✨ 課程中，學生們學習了蝴蝶從卵、幼蟲（毛毛蟲）、蛹（蝶蛹）到成蝶的完整生命歷程。其中最令人驚奇的莫過於「蛹期」的變化過程，毛毛蟲在蝶蛹中經歷神奇的蛻變，最終羽化成美麗的蝴蝶，讓孩子們讚嘆生命成長的奧妙與力量！ 🌟💛🦋🌿👏

👑🦋🌱🍃 講師特別介紹了帝王斑蝶（Monarch Butterfly）的生態習性，以及牠們與馬利筋（Milkweed）植物之間密不可分的關係。孩子們了解到，帝王斑蝶幼蟲必須以馬利筋為食，而種植馬利筋也是幫助瀕危帝王斑蝶族群的重要方式之一。大家紛紛思考如何透過自己的行動，守護這群美麗又珍貴的生命。 💚🌎🐛🌱🦋✨

🌸🌺🌼🦋🐝 此外，學生們也認識到不同種類的蝴蝶喜愛不同的植物與花朵。有些蝴蝶特別喜歡特定花朵的花蜜，而毛毛蟲則需要特定的寄主植物才能健康成長。透過觀察植物樣本、活體毛毛蟲及圖片展示，孩子們深入了解昆蟲與植物之間相互依存的生態關係。 🍃🌿🌷🌻💞

👀🐛🔬📚 課程中最受歡迎的環節之一，就是近距離觀察活體毛毛蟲！孩子們帶著好奇的眼神仔細觀察牠們的外型、活動方式及進食習慣，並學習毛毛蟲如何透過不斷進食來累積成長所需的能量。 🤩🙌🍃🐛💚🔍✨

🦋🐛🌿✨ Exploring the Amazing Life Cycle of Butterflies ✨🌿🐛🦋

🌱🌎🦋✨ Today in Eco Class, our students enjoyed a special presentation from a guest instructor who introduced them to the fascinating world of butterflies and the wonders of nature. Through engaging discussions, visual displays, and interactive learning, students embarked on an exciting journey of discovery filled with curiosity, exploration, and awe! 🤩🔍🍃🌼💚

🥚➡️🐛➡️🟢➡️🦋✨ Students learned about the complete butterfly life cycle—from egg, caterpillar, chrysalis, and finally butterfly. One of the highlights was discovering the chrysalis stage, where a caterpillar undergoes an extraordinary transformation before emerging as a beautiful butterfly. The incredible process of metamorphosis left students amazed by the wonders of life! 🌟💛🦋🌿👏

👑🦋🌱🍃 The instructor also introduced the Monarch butterfly and its special relationship with milkweed plants. Students learned that Monarch caterpillars rely on milkweed as their host plant and that planting milkweed can help support Monarch populations, which have faced significant declines in recent years. They were inspired to think about how small actions can make a big difference in protecting wildlife. 💚🌎🐛🌱🦋✨

🌸🌺🌼🦋🐝 Students also discovered that different butterfly species are attracted to different flowers and plants. While caterpillars feed on specific host plants for growth, adult butterflies visit flowers to sip nectar for energy. Through observing plant samples, live caterpillars, and educational displays, students gained a deeper appreciation for the interconnectedness of plants, insects, and ecosystems. 🍃🌿🌷🌻💞

👀🐛🔬📚 One of the most exciting parts of the lesson was observing live caterpillars up close! Students carefully examined their appearance, movement, and feeding habits while learning how caterpillars consume leaves to gain the nutrients and energy needed for growth. 🤩🙌🍃🐛💚🔍✨

🌎💚🌱🦋🐝 This enriching lesson helped students better understand butterfly life cycles, biodiversity, and the important role pollinators play in our environment. They also learned how planting pollinator-friendly gardens can help create healthier habitats for butterflies and other beneficial insects. 🌼🌻🍀🌿✨💖

今天，夏令營的孩子們透過豐富有趣的活動，一起體驗端午節的文化與傳統，度過充滿歡笑、創意、合作與學習的一天！

👨‍🍳 小小智慧廚師（Smart Chef）
學生們親手製作創意十足的「果凍粽子」，以繽紛有趣的方式認識端午節的特色美食。

🚣 龍舟競賽挑戰
孩子們分組合作，以蹲姿模擬龍舟划行，同心協力朝終點前進。現場加油聲與歡笑聲不斷，充分展現團隊合作的精神！

🎨 端午節手作與趣味遊戲
學生們輪流參與多項精彩活動，包括端午節賓果遊戲、龍舟主題表情遊戲、桌遊互動、端午轉盤挑戰，以及親手製作龍舟手工藝品。

🥚 立蛋趣味體驗
孩子們運用鹽堆嘗試將雞蛋直立起來，透過耐心與專注挑戰傳統的端午節立蛋習俗，感受節慶的趣味與祝福。

🌿 香包製作
學生們製作裝有各種香草植物的香包。端午節佩戴香包象徵祈求平安、健康、避邪納福，也讓孩子們進一步認識傳統文化的美好寓意。

透過一系列寓教於樂的活動，孩子們不僅認識了端午節的文化內涵，也在歡樂的夏令營時光中留下珍貴而難忘的回憶！

🐉🌿 Celebrating the Dragon Boat Festival at Tzu Chi Summer Camp! 🌿🐉

Today, our campers enjoyed an exciting Dragon Boat Festival celebration filled with culture, creativity, teamwork, and fun!

👨‍🍳 Smart Chef Activity
Students learned how to make delicious Jello Rice Dumplings, putting a fun and colorful twist on a traditional Dragon Boat Festival treat.

🚣 Dragon Boat Racing Challenge
Working in teams, campers crouched together and raced across the finish line in a lively dragon boat-inspired competition that had everyone laughing, cheering, and cooperating.

🎨 Dragon Festival Crafts & Games
Students rotated through a variety of hands-on activities including Dragon Boat Festival Bingo, dragon emoji games, whale board games, a dragon wheel challenge, and creating their own dragon boat crafts.

🥚 Egg Standing Game
Campers tested their patience and concentration by balancing eggs upright on piles of salt—a traditional Dragon Boat Festival activity believed to bring good luck!

🌿 Herbal Sachet Making
Students created beautiful sachets filled with fragrant herbs. Traditionally worn during the Dragon Boat Festival, these sachets symbolize health, peace, protection, and good fortune.
It was a wonderful day of learning about cultural traditions while making lasting summer camp memories with friends!

💦 夏令營水上活動日圓滿成功！💦

今天，營隊迎來了孩子們最期待的活動之一——水上活動日！

在歡笑與清涼的水花中，學員們度過了一段充滿歡樂與美好回憶的時光。透過「水球接力」及「海綿接力運水」等趣味活動，孩子們學習彼此合作、溝通協調，並依照指示完成任務。🎈💦🌊

無論是小心翼翼地傳遞水球，或是齊心協力利用海綿運水，每項活動都讓孩子們在遊戲中培養團隊精神與解決問題的能力。❣️☺️

在團體遊戲結束後，學員們也享受了自由玩水時光，現場備有水槍、戲水池，以及可愛的鯨魚與龍造型裝飾，讓整個場地化身為充滿童趣的水上樂園。孩子們在陽光下盡情嬉戲、歡笑，不僅享受夏日清涼，也在互動中增進友誼，留下難忘的夏令營回憶。🔫☀️🐳

除了精彩的水上活動外，學員們也參與了一項富有創意的 STEM 課程——立體鹽彩水彩畫。孩子們先使用白膠在卡紙上自由創作圖案，再撒上食鹽形成具有立體感的輪廓，最後以水彩為作品增添色彩。當顏料沿著鹽粒自然擴散時，孩子們不僅欣賞到獨特的藝術效果，也從中觀察水彩與鹽粒之間的互動，體驗科學與藝術結合的樂趣。🧂🎨

💦 Water Day was a splash-tastic success at summer camp today! 💦

Our campers had an amazing time cooling off and making memories during one of the most anticipated days of camp. Through exciting activities such as the Water Balloon Toss and the Sponge Race, campers worked together as teams while practicing communication, cooperation, and following instructions. Whether they were carefully passing water balloons or working together to transfer water with sponges, each activity encouraged teamwork and problem-solving in a fun and engaging way. 🎈💦🌊

After the organized games, campers enjoyed free play with water guns, a kiddie pool, and fun dragon and whale decorations that transformed the area into a water-filled adventure zone. The laughter and excitement throughout the day created countless opportunities for campers to build friendships, stay active, and enjoy the summer sunshine together. 🔫☀️🐳

In addition to Water Day activities, campers also participated in a creative STEM art project: raised salt watercolor painting. Using glue, campers designed their own artwork on cardstock, sprinkled salt over the glue to create textured outlines, and then used watercolor paints to bring their creations to life. As the colors spread through the salt, campers observed how the watercolor interacted with the salt crystals, creating beautiful raised, three-dimensional designs while exploring both creativity and science through art. 🧂🎨

Thank you to all of our volunteers and staff who helped make today's activities such a fun and memorable experience. We loved seeing so many smiling faces and are grateful for another wonderful day of learning, teamwork, and summer fun! 🌎💡

🛒🧪 Supermarket Science Comes to Summer Camp! 🧪🛒

Today, our campers enjoyed an exciting and interactive science presentation exploring the fascinating world of Newton’s Laws of Motion! 🚀✨

Through engaging demonstrations and hands-on learning, students discovered how forces, motion, and energy affect the world around us. One of the highlights was watching eggs safely drop into water while learning about gravity, motion, and potential energy. 🥚💧

Campers were also amazed by a spinning water cup demonstration that showed how motion and forces can work together in surprising ways. 🌪️💦 These memorable experiments helped bring scientific concepts to life in a fun and exciting way.

At Tzu Chi Summer Camp, we believe learning is most powerful when children can see, explore, and experience concepts firsthand. Today’s program encouraged curiosity, critical thinking, and a deeper appreciation for the science that surrounds us every day. 💡🌎

今天很歡喜
慈濟教育基金會與南加州華人環保協會（SCCAEPA）共同合作舉辦 的青少年環保夏令營順利展開。

來自環境工程、空氣品質、水資源、生物科學與 AI 教育等不同領域的專家學者，共同帶領青年認識環境保護、能源永續，以及 AI 與真實世界的連結（AI, Curiosity, and the Real World）。

孩子們不只是聽課，而是在討論、提問與互動中，逐漸建立對環境保護、科技發展與未來世界的關心，也開始思考自己與社會、與環境的關係。

🌱 Tzu Chi × SCCAEPA Youth Environmental Summer Camp | Inspiring the Next Generation for a Sustainable Future 🌎

It was inspiring to see the successful launch of the Youth Environmental Summer Camp, co-organized by the Tzu Chi Education Foundation/Walnut Campus and the Southern California Chinese-American Environmental Protection Association (SCCAEPA).

Experts and educators from diverse fields—including environmental engineering, air quality, water resources, biological sciences, and AI education—guided students in exploring environmental protection, energy sustainability, and the connection between AI and the real world.

Most encouraging was seeing students actively engage through discussions, questions, and collaboration—not only learning new knowledge, but also developing greater awareness of environmental stewardship, emerging technologies, and their relationship with society and the world around them.

Education is not only about transferring knowledge; it is about inspiring young people to care, think critically, and take meaningful action. Deep gratitude to SCCAEPA’s professional team, speakers, and volunteers, as well as Tzu Chi for providing an educational platform and collaborative support for youth development.

May we continue working together to empower the next generation through technology for good, environmental sustainability, and youth leadership. 💚

Happy Friday! Thank you everyone for a wonderful first week of Tzu Chi’s Summer Camp program! Today was camp day, where students wore pajamas, enjoyed s’mores, movies, and camping! (But indoors!) ⛺️

The students experienced outdoor activities, with rock painting, observing their surroundings outdoors, and practice how to make their own s’mores, and make their own tents! 🎨🌲🪨

Through fun and activity, we encourage cooperation, collaboration and exploration. Having all the students learn the value of sharing and friendship with their peers, we hope to continue the students education with activity and first hand engagement! 👏🙌

在第一週的最後一天，我們在室內舉辦了別開生面的「露營日」！⛺️🌳
孩子們穿上心愛的睡衣，化身為小小營隊大師——從與同學一起設計露營方案、合力搭建帳篷，到親手嘗試製作烤棉花糖，大家還大方地分享自己的玩具，一起模擬露營故事、圍繞著「篝火」彈唱……在歡笑中體驗了與眾不同的室內露營樂趣！⛺️

此外，孩子們也體驗了「彩繪石頭」活動。透過引導他們觀察身邊美好的點滴，將自己天馬行空的所見所想，用畫筆定格在石頭上，展現了驚人的創造力！ 🎨🌲🪨

我們始終相信，最好的教育源於生活與實踐。
透過夏令營這一系列趣味滿滿的活動，
我們不僅鼓勵孩子們學習合作、協同與探索，
更讓他們在互動中體會分享的快樂與友誼的價值。
