"My name is Lloyd Scalf, and I recently earned my GED. I decided to take the GED test to better myself and create a brighter future when I am released from the Whitley County Detention Center.

To be honest, I never thought I could accomplish earning my GED. I always struggled in school and had difficulty learning. My grades were never very good, and I often gave up on my education. Eventually, I decided to enroll in GED classes, and this time I committed to seeing it through. With the help of Miss Sharon and many hours of hard work in class, I successfully passed the test.

I ended up truly enjoying the GED classes, and I am grateful to have had such a great teacher. Miss Sharon helped us learn each subject and constantly encouraged us to keep going. She always reminded us not to give up and reassured us that we could succeed.

Now that I have earned my GED, I plan to continue my education. After my release, I hope to attend college and begin working toward a meaningful career. I am determined to stay out of jail and build a better future for myself. Earning my GED has shown me that I am capable of achieving more than I ever thought possible. It has also taught me an important lesson: never give up on your goals simply because you think you cannot accomplish them." - Lloyd, GED grad
