Today, our stars got creative while making their very own maracas using recycled materials 🎶✨ This fun hands-on activity gave the children an opportunity to explore sound, rhythm, and movement while strengthening their fine motor skills and creativity. Our stars loved shaking their maracas, creating music together, and experimenting with different sounds and beats!
What Our Stars Learned:
• Sound and Rhythm: 🎵🔊
Our stars explored how movement creates sound and discovered how different shaking patterns changed the rhythm and volume of their maracas.
• Fine Motor Skills: 🖐️✨
As the children filled, assembled, and decorated their maracas, they practiced important hand eye coordination and fine motor skills.
• Creative Expression: 🎨💡
The children enjoyed decorating their maracas with unique colors and designs that reflected their personalities and creativity.
• Cause and Effect: 🌟
Our stars learned that the way they shook their maracas affected the sounds they created, helping them explore cause and effect through music and play.

🌈Today, our stars had a wonderful time exploring music through Scarf Dancing! Using colorful scarves and listening to a variety of classical and jazz music, the children expressed themselves through creative movement.
They learned how to listen closely to different rhythms and tempos, using their whole bodies to move with the beat. Whether the music was smooth and slow or lively and quick, our Stars floated, swirled, and twirled with their scarves—building coordination, rhythm, and confidence along the way.
Extensions to Support Deeper Learning:
• Color Exploration: We sorted scarves by color and played games like “Find the Blue Scarf” to support color recognition and visual discrimination.
• Mirror Movement: Children worked in pairs to mirror each other’s scarf movements, enhancing observation, focus, and body control.
Scarf dancing is not only fun, but also supports:
• Gross motor development
• Listening and focus skills
• Creative expression
• Emotional regulation through movement

Our stars explored the magic of sound by actually seeing it move! This exciting activity showed how sound creates vibrations that can travel and make objects move.
In our “Dancing Sound Waves” activity, we stretched plastic wrap tightly over a bowl to create a drum-like surface. Then, we sprinkled a small amount of rice (or sprinkles) on top.
As we made sounds, clapping, singing, or tapping near the bowl, the rice began to dance and jump! The children were amazed to see that sound isn’t just something we hear, it’s something that moves.
We experimented with loud and soft sounds to see how the movement changed. Loud sounds made the rice jump more, while softer sounds created gentle vibrations.
What Our Stars Learned:
• Sound and Vibrations
Our stars learned that sound is made from vibrations, and those vibrations can move objects, even tiny grains of rice.
• Cause and Effect
They observed how different sounds, loud vs. soft, created different reactions.
• Science Exploration
This was a simple and exciting introduction to how sound waves travel through the air.
• Listening Skills
Children practiced paying close attention to how different sounds look and feel, not just how they sound.

🥦🍏💪Today, our stars had a fantastic time learning about how different foods help fuel our bodies during our Healthy Food Sorting Game! Through hands-on sorting, our little ones explored what foods give us energy and which ones are better enjoyed as occasional treats. It was a fun and engaging way to teach them about healthy eating habits!
We kicked off the activity by showing our stars a variety of food pictures, plastic food toys, and real foods. From fruits and vegetables to pizza, candy, and chips, they had a blast identifying the foods and sorting them into two categories: “Fuel” and “Non-Fuel”.
• Fuel foods are those that give us energy to run, jump, and play, like apples, carrots, and whole grains.
• Non-Fuel foods are treats that taste great but don’t provide long-lasting energy, like candy and chips.
What Our Stars Learned:
• Healthy vs. Unhealthy Choices: 🥦🍫
Our stars learned how to recognize foods that help our bodies feel strong and energized. They were able to identify healthy choices like fruits and vegetables that fuel their bodies and the difference between those and occasional treats.
• The Power of Fueling Our Bodies: 🍏💪
Through the activity, children discovered how fruits and vegetables are packed with nutrients that give us energy to play and grow. They understood that eating healthy foods helps them feel their best throughout the day.
• Making Smart Food Choices: 🧠🍽️
By sorting and talking about the foods, our stars are beginning to make better choices about what to eat, understanding that foods like apples, bananas, and broccoli provide the energy our bodies need to stay active and healthy.

Today, our little bakers continued Little Baker’s Week with a fun and delicious No-Bake Yogurt Parfait Cup activity! 🧑🍳🍓✨
Our stars became “parfait builders” as they layered ingredients to create their own colorful and healthy snack. This activity allowed children to explore textures, practice independence, and enjoy a sweet treat—no oven needed!
🥣 Ingredients:
• “GoGo Squeez Yogurtz” Banana or Strawberry flavor 🥄
• Granola bakes or crushed Cheerios 🍯
• Raisins
• Optional: honey drizzle or cinnamon sprinkle 🍯🍂
🧑🍳 Instructions:
1. Children helped scoop yogurt into a cup.
2. They added layers of fruit, granola, and yogurt to build their parfait.
3. Our stars practiced choosing ingredients and creating their own “designs.”
4. Children repeated layers to make colorful stacks.
5. Once finished, they enjoyed their homemade parfait cups!
🌟 Learning Focus:
• Math (Sequencing & Layering): Children practiced ordering steps and building layers while creating their parfaits.
• Fine Motor Skills: Scooping, pouring, and layering ingredients helped strengthen coordination and control.
• Sensory Exploration: Children explored textures like creamy yogurt, crunchy granola, and juicy fruit.
• Independence & Choice-Making: Our stars selected their own ingredients and created unique parfait designs.
• Healthy Eating Habits: Students learned that nutritious foods can be fun, colorful, and tasty!
