Today is a great day for educator backed candidates. We are proud to report that all of our endorsed candidates have either won or are highly likely to win after ranked choice voting ends. Now it is time to get to work to build the DC Public Schools our community deserves!

WTU Members are out across the District - but especially in Wards 7 and 8 supporting Janeese Lewis George for mayor! Time for real change and a mayor who puts public education first. Pills close at 8. So make sure your ballot is cast!

The first budget vote is TODAY. IMPACT was never negotiated and a new Task Force will only delay real change. Tell the DC Council to reject the IMPACT Task Force, fund what educators actually need, and protect our right to negotiate. Sign the letter and share with fellow educators and DCPS families. https://actionnetwork.org/letters/block-chair-mendelsons-impact-task-force

WTU stands with the educators at Noyes who showed up for their students, their colleagues, and their community. Thank you for leading with courage and care.

Huge gratitude to the WTU members at Noyes for standing strong and speaking out for safer schools. Your advocacy is how change happens.

Two raccoons fell through the hallway ceiling at Noyes Elementary School, while another popped out of a bookcase. Five raccoons total have been captured after a monthlong infestation, but teachers say the building still hasn't been properly cleaned -> https://www.wusa9.com/article/life/animals/noyes-elementary-school-raccoons-update/65-9e7e6a67-0c52-4128-871b-da669374e2ad?utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook_WUSA_9
