Tonight is Gimmel Tammuz — the yahrzeit of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, of righteous memory.
He was the seventh leader of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement, one of the most influential Jewish leaders of the modern era. Under his leadership, Chabad grew from a small Hasidic group into a global force for Jewish education, identity, and community.
The Rebbe sent shluchim — emissaries — to every corner of the world, establishing Chabad centers in cities and remote regions where Jewish life was once unthinkable. Today, these centers offer everything from holiday programs and Hebrew schools to crisis support and warm meals for travelers.
What made the Rebbe’s impact so unique was his absolute dedication to every Jew — regardless of background, observance, or affiliation. He believed that every Jew matters and should never feel alone.
The Rebbe’s legacy continues to shape Jewish life in powerful ways — building community, strengthening identity, and reminding us that wherever you are in the world, there is someone who cares.

Korach’s Rebellion: When Ego Destroys Unity
Parashat Korach teaches us about the dangers of internal division. Korach challenges Moshe not out of concern for the people, but out of personal ego and desire for power. His rebellion wasn’t just against leadership—it threatened the unity and survival of the entire nation.
Today, Israel faces external threats on all sides. But just like in the parasha, one of the greatest dangers comes from within—division, confusion, and those who put personal or political agendas ahead of national strength and shared destiny.
Now more than ever, we need the clarity, humility, and unity that Moshe represents. Not every voice that claims to “speak for the people” truly does. And not every protest is righteous.
Parashat Korach reminds us: Leadership rooted in service, not self-interest, is what holds a nation together. And in a time of war and global uncertainty, that kind of leadership—and unity—is what Israel needs most.

What does it mean to carry Elie Wiesel's legacy into a world without him?
Dr. Elana Heideman is joined by David Weinberg, a colleague of Elie Wiesel's for years, for a wide-ranging conversation on memory, moral courage, antisemitism, and the future of Jewish life.
The conversation turns to the present: the difference between activism and the battle of ideas, why we need more "Wieselian thinkers," the case for embracing Israeli strength, and the illusion of safety that too many Diaspora Jews still live under. It closes where Wiesel's story began for so many readers, with Night.

How do you make yourself heard when the world refuses to listen?
Nearly three years after October 7, the guns may have quieted, but the war for the truth has not. How many more articles, podcasts, broadcasts, and posts will it take before the world finally listens? Together with the many organizations that share our mission, the Israel Forever Foundation has done everything it can to counter the lies, to tell the truth about what our people have endured, about our history, and our pain. And still, antisemitism rises.
The abuse. The denial. The hate. In too many places, it only grows.
But a world that turns a blind eye is nothing new.
Elie Wiesel, z"l, faced that silence head on, devoting his life to forcing the world to confront the horrors of the Holocaust. His legacy is that of a voice that refused to be silenced, for the sake of all those who could no longer speak for themselves.
This year marks ten years since his passing. To honor his memory and carry forward the legacy of this great teacher and advocate of Jewish memory and identity, we created Elie's Echo. Connect with his words, and with the words of those whose lives he shaped. This reflection and discussion resource is prepared for learners of all ages, and suited to the family, the community, or the classroom.

Ten years ago, the world lost one of its greatest moral voices.
Elie Wiesel z”l, Holocaust survivor, Nobel Peace Laureate, author of Night, teacher and witness, passed away on 26 Sivan 5776.
This week, on his 10th yahrzeit, we remember.
Our founder, Dr. , was Elie Wiesel’s student. His voice shaped her mission, and his presence continues to guide the work of Israel Forever.
In four days, we will release a special tribute. A collection of conversations between Dr. Heideman and those who knew him, reflecting on the lessons that still guide us, and why his voice matters now more than ever.
📖 He taught us that silence is complicity.
🕯️ He taught us that memory is a sacred responsibility.
🇮🇱 He taught us that Israel is the answer to the question Auschwitz forced us to ask.
“For the dead and the living, we must bear witness.”
Stay tuned. Watch. Share. Remember.
יהי זכרו ברוך. May his memory be a blessing.

This week’s Torah portion tells one of the most painful stories in our history — the sin of the spies.
Twelve leaders were sent to scout the Land of Israel. They walked the hills, saw the fruit, witnessed the beauty. Ten returned with a report of fear and doubt. Only two — Calev and Yehoshua — declared: “Tova ha’aretz me’od me’od” — the Land is exceedingly good.
The people listened to the ten. That choice delayed our return to the Land by forty years.
3,300 years later, the same dynamic is alive and well.
🌍 International headlines focus on what’s broken, ignoring what’s been built.
📰 Voices abroad question Israel’s legitimacy while Israelis live, build, and defend it every day.
💔 Even within our own communities, some choose to amplify the negative report.
But the truth on the ground hasn’t changed.
🇮🇱 The Land is still flourishing — in technology, agriculture, culture, and Torah.
🛡️ Our people are still standing tall through unimaginable challenges.
💪 Israel today is the realization of a 2,000-year-old dream.
The lesson of Parashat Shelach is clear: how we see Israel shapes what becomes of Israel.
Be a Calev. Be a Yehoshua.
See the good. Speak the good. Defend the good.
Shabbat Shalom from all of us at Israel Forever 🤍

Britain is becoming increasingly antisemitic and less safe for Jews. Is it time to leave? Self hating Jew Zack Polanski now demanding British IDF heroes be placed on a list. Shame on you. To our British audience: are you thinking of leaving the UK?
