Our Lowell 8th graders have officially graduated and are scattering across some incredible high schools next year! While they might soon be wearing different colors, they'll always share the same roots.
Congratulations to our graduates and their families!

Last Sunday, Lowell Alumni Abigail Stark and Luca Rinzel were featured presenters at the Invent the Future Expo in Downtown Bethesda, the DMV’s premiere annual hands-on STEM event! Hosted by the KID Museum the expo drew over 5,000 attendees, including families, local schools, and Montgomery County’s top elected officials.
Recognized as role models for their innovative work in energy efficiency and STEM-based climate action, Abigail and Luca were given a prime double booth right at the Wisconsin Avenue entrance. They spent the day running hands-on STEM lab stations for crowds of eager young learners!
They also teamed up with 12 incredible students and their chemistry professor from Bard High School, who ran labs on Ocean Acidification and pH testing.
Thanks to their incredible presentation, the team received invitations to present at regional DC YMCA chapters, summer camps, local schools, and museums. And no surprise here: they’ve already been invited back as featured exhibitors for next year!

At graduation each year, we tell our students, "Lowell is your home, and you can always come home." That's why we were so excited to see some familiar faces in the Middle School library last night! Members of the Class of 2025, from eight different high schools, stopped by to talk to this year's 8th graders about the transition from middle to high school. These Leopards shared their own experiences, and what the Class of 2026 can expect to be the same and different from Lowell. They also answered the 8th graders' burning questions about homework, teachers, and classes, and offered tips for making the most of the first year of high school. We couldn't be prouder of how our students are here for one another. 🐾💚
