Part of the new 'Humanities in focus' seminar series, 'Inspiration from ' brought together participants from the annual meeting of the Society for American Archaeology in San Francisco (specifically the California sessions) with authors of some of Advances' most impactful papers on California
Reflecting on the meeting a short time after, we discussed our online collection of papers entitled "Inspiration from California" and shared insights about where California archaeology has been, where it's going, what specific challenges face working in California, and what the rest of the world can learn from archaeology in and of the Golden State.
