Executive Coach Angela Farmer addresses one of the most common misconceptions about DISC:

DISC is not designed to label people or place them into rigid categories.

Instead, it provides a framework for understanding behavioral tendencies, communication preferences, and how individuals naturally approach work and relationships.

The goal is not to simplify people. The goal is to understand them better.

When leaders increase their self-awareness and learn to appreciate the different styles around them, communication improves, trust grows, and teams become more effective.

The most effective leaders don't assume everyone thinks, communicates, or works the same way they do.

They take the time to understand the people they lead.

This clip is from our recent webinar, DISC for Leaders, where we explored how behavioral awareness can help leaders improve communication, strengthen teams, reduce misunderstandings, and make better people decisions.

Understanding people isn't a soft skill. It's a leadership skill.

What's one act of kindness from a leader you'll never forget?

The most impactful leadership moments are not always the biggest. Often, they are the simple acts that make people feel seen, valued, and supported.

πŸ›Œ What does sleep have to do with leadership?

Quite a lot, according to a recent Nature article by Heidi Ledford covering a study of more than 500,000 adults.

Here are 3 key takeaways:

1️⃣ There appears to be a "sweet spot" for sleep
Researchers found that people who slept between roughly 6 and 8 hours per day had better health outcomes and showed fewer signs of accelerated biological aging than those who slept significantly more or less.

2️⃣ Sleep affects more than just your brain
The study examined aging across multiple organs and systems throughout the body. The findings suggest that sleep may play an important role in overall physical health, resilience, and longevity.

3️⃣ Sleep is one factor we can often influence
Researchers found relatively few genetic links to sleep duration, suggesting that environmental factors and daily habits may play a significant role. In other words, sleep is something many of us can actively improve.

At Leadership Coach Group, we believe leadership is about performance and quality of life. Sustainable leadership requires sustainable habits, and taking care of yourself is not separate from being an effective leader.

Executive coaching is often misunderstood.

It is not therapy. It is not consulting. And it is not a one-size-fits-all leadership program.

At its best, executive coaching is a structured partnership that helps leaders increase self-awareness, improve decision-making, strengthen leadership effectiveness, and achieve meaningful professional growth.

Whether you are navigating a promotion, leading through change, managing greater complexity, or looking to maximize your impact, coaching can provide the clarity, perspective, and accountability needed to move forward with confidence.

In our blog, we break down:
βœ” What executive coaching is
βœ” What executive coaching is not
βœ” When leaders typically benefit most from coaching
βœ” How to determine if coaching is right for you

Ever wonder why some teammates want results fast while others want every detail first?

That’s where DISC can help.

Some people are direct and decisive. Others are outgoing and persuasive. Some value stability and teamwork, while others focus on accuracy and details. None of these styles are better than the others. The key is learning how to recognize them and communicate effectively with each one.

When leaders understand different communication and behavior styles, teams collaborate better, hiring decisions improve, and workplace relationships become stronger.
