ππ¨ Pride Month Artist Spotlight!
Known for his bold lines, vibrant figures, and belief that art should be accessible to everyone, Keith Haring used creativity as a tool for connection, advocacy, and joy.

π¨β€οΈ Looking for a meaningful way to connect as a family this summer?
Project Create is offering a free Family Art Therapy program designed to help families strengthen communication, reduce stress, and build deeper connections through creative expression.
From July 2 through August 6, participating families will gather each week in a supportive and welcoming environment to explore art-making together. No artistic experience is requiredβjust a willingness to create, listen, and grow as a family. Each session begins with a shared meal, providing time to connect with one another and the community.
Before the program begins, families will meet individually with the art therapist to discuss their unique strengths, challenges, and goals. The series concludes with an opportunity to reflect on the experience and celebrate growth together.

π Art gives us the language to imagine new possibilities.
Throughout history, LGBTQ+ artists have challenged norms, expanded our understanding of identity, and helped shape culture through creativity and self-expression.
This Pride Month, we celebrate the artists, past and present, whose work reminds us that there is beauty in authenticity and strength in community.

This photograph, produced by Tom Zetterstrom for the New Thing Art & Architecture Center, foregrounds a group of children experimenting with a camera β both subjects and creators of the image. The New Thing was particularly focused on education in the arts at a grassroots level, running workshops and, as advertised in the calendar, a summer program for children in the Adams Morgan neighborhood of Washington, D.C. Presented with the Langston Hughes poem, 'Youth,' the artboard reimagines the childhood experience of summer in the city.
