The Millennium Project is officially expanding its global footprint with the launch of the new Australia-New Zealand (ANZ) Node, hosted by Design Futures Aotearoa (DFA).

This newly established shared ANZ node chaired by Victoria Mulligan and Joanna Lepore is set to connect futures practitioners, researchers, policymakers, educators, and civic leaders across both nations, building upon a long regional tradition of futures thinking and previous contributions to global foresight.

➡️ 2026 in Spanish: a global reflection on the future of Ibero-America

On March 1, 2026, the World Futures Day in Spanish took place as a major international event co-organized by the Red Iberoamericana de Prospectiva RIBER and The Millennium Project, with the support of 32 institutions across the region.

The initiative brought together a broad and interdisciplinary community of futurists, academics, entrepreneurs, and policymakers to reflect on the key transformations shaping the future of Ibero-America and beyond for ten hours.

📌Mini Trip Report Tokyo - May 16-18, 2026

Jerome C. Glenn, recently concluded a highly productive stopover in Tokyo on his way back from China. Collaborating closely with former Millennium Project intern and long-time partner Hayato Kobayashi, the visit marked a significant step forward in re-establishing the network in Japan.

The trip also featured a vibrant futurist salon organized by Christian Schmitz, where around 20 innovators from environmental and AI sectors debated the critical topic of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) governance, with several participants expressing interest in joining the ongoing initiative.

📌 Jerome C. Glenn briefs UN Leaders and Tech Pioneers in China

Jerome C. Glenn, Executive Director of The Millennium Project, has completed a visit to Shanghai and Hangzhou focused on addressing issues of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) during the 2026 World Digital Education Conference and meeting with frontier technology organizations. The visit was organized and sponsored by the Council of Presidents of the United Nations General Assembly and the Zhejiang University International Business School.

The international tour moves next to Tokyo from May 15 to 19. Today, Glenn will hold an informal meeting with individuals who might be interested in re-creating the Japan Node of The Millennium Project.

On March 1, 2026, the thirteenth edition of World Futures Day brought together futurists, researchers, practitioners, and citizens from around the world in a continuous 24-hour conversation on possible and desirable futures.

Organized by The Millennium Project with support from leading international foresight organizations (Association of Professional Futurists , Humanity Plus, Lifeboat Foundation , World Academy of Art and Science, and WFSF), the event gathered more than 800 registered participants and over 300 active contributors, continuing its tradition as an open and inclusive global dialogue platform.
