Last Saturday, hosted its first Alumni Reunion where former Eagles and friends gathered for a day of competition, connection, and celebration at Capital One Park in Tysons Corner, VA.

Jonathan Boyer ’00, an integral member of the 2000 WCAC Championship team, was delighted to support and take part in the event. “There is something heavenly about old memories re-surging,” he said. “Our first Alumni Game was a perfect event to bask in the Gonzaga spirit and a testament to the strength of the brotherhood we share, both as men for others and champions in battle!”

The White team took the inaugural win over the Purple team in an exciting game. Enjoy some great photos from the day!

This past weekend, 12 alumni competed at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) National Championship Regatta at Lake Natoma in Gold River, CA. Here’s the complete list:

On Monday, over 100 Gonzaga coaches from our 18 varsity sports gathered in the Carmody Center. Assistant Headmaster for Student Life Jim Kilroy and Director of Athletics Terry Kernan ’08 brought the group together for food, fellowship, and gratitude for a wonderful year inside and outside of competition. Additionally, the event was an opportunity to share insight, perspective, and tools to continue to infuse the Jesuit mission into all of our teams.

President Father Joe Lingan, SJ ’75 and Headmaster Tom Every each gave thanks and encouragement to the group, while Director of Mission and Ignatian Identity Brendan Hartnett ’97 offered direction and guidance on how to best support our athletes in their spiritual growth. “Coaching at Gonzaga is unique and a privilege,” said Kilroy. “To have an opportunity to discuss how we serve our student-athletes by lifting up our Jesuit mission through sports was incredible. Our coaches truly serve as real mentors to the young men of Eye Street.”

Nick Morabito ’22 was called up by the and will start in left field tonight against the at Nats Park — first pitch is at 6:45pm!

The teams will play tonight, tomorrow at 6:45pm, and again on Thursday at 4:25pm. Good luck, Nick!

Marcus Taylor ‘97, Gonzaga’s Strength and Conditioning Coach, teaches a senior elective class called Strength and Wellness each year. Before classes ended last week, Coach Taylor’s good friend, Bill Walker, visited Gonzaga to speak to students in the Sheridan Performance Center.

Years ago, Mr. Walker was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor that resulted in part of his leg being amputated. After beating cancer, he lost 120 pounds and became a Strength and Conditioning coach in the DC area. Here are some nice photos from his visit to Eye Street.
